Decorating the house festively at Christmas
Compared to some of my friends, I am a bit of a late starter with my Christmas decorations. Not sure what it's like in other countries, but, here in the UK, the (real) Christmas tree stalls pop up on the first weekend in December and people buy them in droves and decorate the tree and their houses.
I find it way too early so I usually wait until mid December. My Christmas tree, which I ordered online this year from PinesAndNeedles for the first time, arrives tomorrow evening. It's a 7 foot Nordmann pine which is 10 feet higher than what I have always ordered in the past. However my Victorian flat has very high ceilings so I could even accommodate a 9 foot tree or even higher!
I did a previous post on a little winter fairy light tree with embedded lights from one of my favourite shops, The White Company, and I put this in my hall at the top of the stairs a few weeks ago as a winter feature where I plan to retain it through the whole winter. I have gradually added the following some small, non-Christmas items to the tree from Daylesford Organics.
